Calendar Girls

Calendar Girls at Theatre Royal Brighton

Why see Calendar Girls?

the beloved musical returns

One extraordinary story, one fantastic film, and now a gloriously funny and heartfelt musical! Don't miss this all-new production of Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's Calendar Girls, where one W.I. group takes fundraising to a whole new level. Continuing the aims of the original scheme, a portion of the proceeds still goes to charity!

What is the story?

Two friends, Annie and Chris are trying to raise money for their local cancer ward to provide a sofa for relatives. When money is not forthcoming, they gain a moment of inspiration. Roping in their fellow ladies of the local Knapely W.I., they decide to create a charity calendar with a difference - they will all appear in the nude, albeit with strategically placed flowers and teapots to save their modesty. With the help of the friendly hospital porter and aspiring photographer Lawrence, the ladies shed their inhibitions - and clothes - for the photoshoot of their lives.
